Instructional Design Courses

The Instructional Design Certificate program is comprised of four graduate level courses:

  • Ed Ad 514: Curriculum & Instructional Design (3 credits)
The course will address learning theory, instructional design models, instructional strategies, assessment, and instructional environments.
  • T & L 519: Educational Media (3 credits)
Students will investigate and apply cutting-edge media solutions utilized in instructional settings.
  • Capstone Experience—The following two seminar courses will be combined to serve as a capstone experience for students enrolled in the certificate and will incorporate team-based design, development, and implementation to diverse projects:
    • Ed Ad 520: Seminar in Curriculum & Instruction (3 credits)
    • Ed Ad 522: Topics in Education (3 credits).

Students must complete the first two courses (Ed Ad 514 and T & L 519) before enrolling in the seminar courses (Ed Ad 520 and 522) so they have the skills, knowledge, and theoretical understanding necessary to complete the real-world projects successfully.
